IMS Mathcounts Team Qualifies For State Mathcounts Competition With Second Place Finish
Mercer Island, WA, February 5, 2024 – The Islander Middle School Mathcounts team of Eric Shao, Kyle Liao, Angie Wang, and Albert Cai won second place in the Mathcounts Seattle Chapter Competition on Saturday.
With the second place finish, the IMS team has qualified for the Washington State Mathcounts Competition in March.
Individually, Eric Shao won first place, Kyle Liao won 9th place, and Angie Wang won 10th place in the competition.
Charlotte Westover and Elijah Glowitz also qualified for the Washington State Individual Mathcounts competition.
Mathcounts provides engaging math programs to US middle school students of all ability levels to build confidence and improve attitudes about math and problem solving.
