IMS Robotics Team Competes at VEX Robotics World Championship in Dallas

Mercer Island, WA, May 2, 2023 - This past weekend, Team 98040C, the Islander Middle School Robotics team competed at the 2023 VEX Robotics World Championship in Dallas, Texas.
The team is comprised of Harry Nguyen (team captain), Kenan Khatib, Brian Kwon, Henry Xing, Jeremy Leung, and Zevi Danielli, all seventh graders at IMS.
The IMS team competed with 489 other teams from all over the world. The team placed 33rd out of 81 teams in their division, which advanced them to the playoffs. Their journey ended in the divisional round of 16.
Reflecting back on their first season, the team is extremely proud of their effort and successes, including an Amaze Award, a Judges Award, becoming finalists twice in Washington Regional competitions, and most proudly being chosen as one of six middle school teams to represent Washington at the extremely competitive VEX World Championship.
The team is gearing up for the upcoming 2023-2024 VEX Robotics season and can’t wait to see what will come next.
