IMS Seventh Graders Compete at VEX Robotics Washington Middle School Championship
Mercer Island, WA, March 7, 2024 – Islander Middle School seventh graders Aria and Ava Lele competed in the VEX Robotics Washington Regional Championship on March 2 in Lake Stevens on Team 938R of Blaze Robotics Academy.
Aria and Ava’s Team 938R finished fifth out of 31 teams at the competition with six wins and two losses. This was the first time the sisters competed in a robotic competition.
IMS is extremely proud of Aria and Ava's passion and dedication.
IMS counselor Janet Goldstein provided guidance and recommendations to the girls as they pursued participation in the VEX Competition.

Islander Middle School is turning into a hotbed for robotics. Following their win at the Washington State VEX Middle School Championship earlier this spring, Team Slippery Penguin traveled to the 2024 VEX Robotics World Championship from April 28 to April 30 in Dallas, Texas.
