Six IMS Students Invited To VEX Robotics World Championship in Dallas
Mercer Island, WA, March 6, 2023 - Six Islander Middle School seventh graders formed a robotics team in the summer of 2022.
Fast forward to March 4 and the IMS students comprising Team 98040C, Harry Nguyen, Henry Xing, Kenan Khitib, Brian Kwon, Zevi Danielli and Jeremy Leung, competed in the 2023 Washington VRC Middle School Regional Championship State at Lake Washington High School, finishing in the top six of the competition.
The team’s top six finish earned them an invitation to the 2023 VEX Robotics World Championship in Dallas, Texas, taking place in April.
The six students competed against 30 other state qualifying teams. They worked incredibly hard to achieve success in their first year as a team, evident in their invitation to Dallas.
