Gator Time

Gator Time is the 7th period of our required school day (M, T, R, and F) with some directed whole group learning activities and some self-directed time. We emphasize social/emotional learning during Gator Time with dedicated focus on connections, relationships, organization, and study skills. Gator Time occurs after 6th period. Students will meet and grow relationships with their 6th, 7th and 8th grade peers with class sizes averaging 20 students. Students will stay with their Gator Time teacher all three years at IMS.

Self-directed tasks will include:

  • Homework Completion
  • Studying for Assessments
  • Organizing Physical and Digital Items
  • Planning for Short and Long Term Projects

Gator Time is an environment in which students are able to focus on making connections and accessing support.  Gator time is a required course and attendance will be taken.
